The Alps looks set to improve again upon its already fantastic ski conditions, with snow falling across many resorts this week. Les Deux Alpes was the stand out resort having enjoyed a 30cm windfall throughout much of Wednesday. In general, excellent skiing can be found across the Alps at present and more terrain is being made available as the weeks roll by. With temperatures set to remain around the zero mark, the benefits of such a snowfall should be enjoyed for a little while yet.

The best of the weather was experienced in Dachstein (13cm), although wasn’t set to last with cloudy spells expected for the afternoon.
However it is good news as we move into the weekend. With the cloud forecast to lift, and clear skies reported across the board, all indicators point towards a great weekend on the slopes.

A flurry of snow hit our featured resorts in France this week, with a reported 30cm falling in both Tignes (50cm) and Les Deux Alpes (50cm), insuring that great ski conditions were on offer on Thursday.
Riders were left disappointed in Les Deux Alpes on Wednesday, after a combination of heavy snowfall and strong winds forced lifts to close. However, the reappearance of the sun on Thursday, along with 30cm of fresh snow, did much to lifts spirits. With sun forecast for the rest of the week, it should prove to be the perfect ending when its week long opening comes to an end.

Changeable weather throughout the week brought with it a fresh dump of snow across many resorts in Switzerland.
Saas-Fee (100cm) saw an impressive 15cm fall on Wednesday, ensuring the slopes remain in excellent condition as it looks set to benefit from a clear weekend.
Zermatt (160cm) was the biggest benefactor from the recent snowfall, with a reported 20cm falling to further increase an already impressive base depth. This allowed the resort to open a further 3 lifts, allowing skiers to take advantage of a wider ski area.

Cervinia was the beneficiary of a decent snowfall in the week, with up to 20cm having fallen throughout the day on Wednesday. This should go a long way to further improve upon the already fantastic conditions in the area.
Ahead of the weekend opening, it looks likely to be a sunny one with some light cloud a possibility. Temperature will remain low so the slopes should be in excellent condition if you are fortunate enough to be heading up the mountain this weekend.
